Tri Training

For the second day in a row I biked 20km and bricked it with a 10Km run. My times were 51:12 and 1:04:44 respectively. My legs felt like I had lead coursing through them instead of blood. I did want to quit but I dug deeper and continued. My times aren't a big deal to me as of right now because I am in my building phase anyways. Getting good habits again, eating clean and just getting it done.
I was 278 lbs last month...I am now down to 264! I want to compete at 225lbs...More to follow !

Training Day

I actually stepped up my running and biking distance today. It's been a long week and weekend with my mothers heart failure and my wife's surgery...So, in lieu of it all, my outlet was to sweat and burn!
I forgot my swimming wear at home in BC. Since I'm three hours of driving one way to retrieve it...it's going to be a dryland training week!
I have been eating clean and losing weight a little bit but due to unforseen family emergencies, work, travel...it's increasingly frustrating to find time to train properly. But today I made time for myself.
I biked 20 Km. in 48:48 with a Ave HR of 155.
I then immediatly ran 10 Km. in 51:12 with a HR of 160.
I didn't feel awful but I have alot of weight to lose, alot of swimming to do and I can't wait until this awful snow bugger's off so I can get some rubber on the pavement.

First Real Start to training for 2012

Well, Today I went at it with my diet and my training. I am watching very closely now my calories in and my calories out. I ran 8km in 55 minutes at an average of 155 HR, swam 13 laps in 35 minutes ( although I was going slow with the expectancy of a slow endurance buildup) and I finished by biking 15Km in 38 minutes with an average heart rate of 145.

I realise this is just the start so I am easing into this with the hopes of being ready for this summers Triathlon season.

More to follow...!

Triathlon 2012

As I write this, I am redesigning my blog and social media sites to better reflect who am as a person and who I am becoming.
I have begun a new chapter in my life with work, family and my commitment to Triathlon.
I have been elected as a councilor for my community and started working as a supervisor for a new mining company starting up in Canada.

The title of this blog post is triathlon 2012 because the training, time and committment to the sport is going to shape my new year. I stopped racing in June and gained back the fourty pounds I lost over the course of last year. I am trying to find the balance between work and family and my committment to fitness.

I am struggling to start. But...I will have to get started soon or it will be a rough racing season.

With the London Olympics coming this year, I am beside myself in anticipation to watch the triathlon this year. To see who is the best in the world.

Lastly, as I wanted to keep this brief, I remove my art posts and i will be removing my art off the blog in order to keep with the transformation of where I am now in my life as well as where I am going. My posts will consist of training diaries, thoughts on different events and situations in my life and that of those around me.

Thanks for reading this update.

If you're interested in commenting or have any advice on or about my posts, please feel free to do so. And Please spread the word.
